Client:
Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve – Chandrapur Division
Located in Maharashtra, Chandrapur district is part of the ecologically rich Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve landscape. Known for its high wildlife activity, it faces regular challenges due to the proximity of human settlements to dense forests.
Business Objective:
To reduce the rising frequency of human-wildlife conflicts in Chandrapur, particularly in 13 forest fringe villages vulnerable to animal incursions. The forest department required a scalable, real-time alerting system capable of handling large video data volumes and empowering early interventions.
Solution:
Valiance deployed the Wildlife Eye system—an AI-powered virtual wall that monitors wildlife movement round-the-clock. By integrating real-time video analytics and multilingual alerts, the solution enabled fast dissemination of warnings to both local communities and forest rangers.
This deployment was powered end-to-end by Google Cloud Infrastructure, utilizing:
- Google Cloud Storage (Standard + Deep Archive): To handle and archive daily inflows of over 1TB of video data, while optimizing storage costs.
- AI Models: For high-speed video analysis and instant notification triggers across multiple village zones.
- Google Security Command Center & VPC (Virtual Private Cloud): For robust, centralized security, privacy compliance, and role-based access control across stakeholders.
- Seamless Data Pipelines: Built on Google Cloud, these ensured consistent uptime, quick processing, and reliable alerting—even in low-connectivity environments.
Outcome:
- Marked reduction in conflict incidents across all 13 villages since implementation.
- Instant, multilingual alerts to locals and patrol staff prevented life-threatening encounters.
- Enhanced community trust and cooperation, enabling smoother conservation efforts.
- Cost-effective long-term storage through Google Deep Archive tier for historical wildlife patterns.
- Scalable, secure, and field-proven infrastructure via Google Cloud ensured high reliability across diverse terrains.
“The virtual wall across 13 villages provides real-time alerts on animal movements, helping us inform locals and prevent conflict incidents.”
