India, home to almost 70% of the world’s tiger population, has witnessed a significant upsurge in tiger numbers, thanks to continuous governmental efforts. The mechanism is straightforward yet effective: as tigers or other wildlife approach human settlements or agricultural fields, they are detected by smart cameras. Upon identification, the system activates hooters to warn the populace, allowing them to seek safety promptly. Concurrently, digital alerts are dispatched to forest officials via a mobile application, enabling them to respond swiftly to the situation. Since its inception, this innovative system has remarkably recorded zero loss of life, showcasing its efficacy in predicting animal behavior and preventing potential conflicts. This achievement not only highlights the project’s success in leveraging AI for social good but also positions it as a leading example of digital innovation in wildlife conservation.
